 Photography Basics II
Here is week 1 and I learned a whole lot about Manual Mode. I made a lot of errors but experimented a lot and learned a bunch. http://rjoannej.com/basicPhotographyII/photogBaswk1.phpGot to get to bed, school in the morning.

 Re: Photography Basics II
That's all a head for me. Started Al's Photography basics course and can't say much about manual mode, except for me it's looking a great learning process. Very nice compositions. Especially liked http://rjoannej.com/basicPhotographyII/ ... large.htmlNice composition and great tones in the curtains and table cloth.

 Re: Photography Basics II
The manual mode can be fun and frustrating at the same time. Darlene wanted to join Al's class but wants to finish an unfinished Photoshop course first. Joanne, have you seen Shan Canfield's work lately? She has gotten into Painter and has a style I know you'll love. She met Katrin at an exhibit in Tenn. recently.

Great images Joanne, this is my next course with Al. Maybe this summer when it's nice out and more sunlight.

 Re: Photography Basics II
Very nice images Joanne. You really think it was worth for taking this Basics II? Did you learn something?

 Re: Photography Basics II
No, wasn't really worth it. My questions never really got answered although things were said. And after all the work I went through to do this set, he said good. Not any instruction/criticism. I like it better if an instructor looks for something special in your work or gives you help on something you need. I saw a set of yellow cast pictures praised and it bothered me 2 days that the person was not told that they were yellow. So, I said something, finally, and he then picked up and said something about it. Here is week 4: http://rjoannej.com/basicPhotographyII/week4/index.htmlI am not doing the last 2 weeks.

 Re: Photography Basics II
Can't tell you how much I loved these photos... each one is distinctive.. The first is almost like a collage... another fav is the one with the gull over the roof tops..... love the colors in the architectural shots.. one can certainly tell that you have a good grip over the camera and are enjoying its capabilities.... I also understand quite well your frustration of not having the constructive crits that you deserve. I had a similar problem when I took a LVS painting class I was the only one posting, and the crits were way below what I expected....sorry to hear that you won't be continuing the last two weeks.. maybe there is something to learn from the lessons in spite of the lack of good constructional criticism. I am having the same problem in my real art class.... whenever he comes by its good.... getting pretty frustrated...

Hi Carol. thanks for viewing...and commenting. Your comments are very encouraging and they make up for what was missing from the instructor. Thank you.
Sorry you are experiencing the same frustration.
